When the Body Carries the War: Navigating Anxiety and Grief During Collective Crisis

  • Online Free Webinar (map)

Overview:

This is a free online workshop for Persian speakers audience.

In times of war and collective crisis, many find themselves carrying an invisible weight, navigating anxiety, overwhelm, grief, and a persistent sense of helplessness while continuing to function in their daily roles. For Farsi-speaking individuals with personal, familial, or cultural ties to the region, this impact is often deeply embodied and layered with responsibility, guilt, and ongoing uncertainty.

This presentation offers a trauma-informed, culturally attuned framework for understanding these responses through the lenses of Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Psychotherapy, and EMDR. We will explore how different internal parts respond to crisis, such as hyper- functioning, emotional numbing, or intrusive worry, and how the body holds and expresses these experiences.

Participants will learn practical, body-based tools to regulate the nervous system, work with anxiety and overwhelm, and gently process feelings of grief and loss. The workshop emphasizes accessible strategies that can be used in real time, supporting a shift from survival-driven functioning toward greater grounding, emotional capacity, and internal stability during ongoing uncertainty.
